We were able to obtain a range of 25 ft with this device. With a fairly quiet vibration, the holder of the controller can really strike at any time. Not quite quiet...

For the price of this product I was expecting more. The 10 settings are fun but unless you are in a crowded club with the music pumping then it's way too loud to use discretely. You could use it by yourself but it doesn't quite have the oomph in the vibrations to put me over the edge.
